Museum Day Guide

It’s impossible to visit every museum in New York City. That’s why we’ve curated our top three institutions to attend this Museum Day. Head out for a culture-filled day on September 28th, when 31 museums are free to the public.

Begin your artsy day at the Rubin Museum, nestled in the heart of the Flatiron District. Explore artworks and artifacts from the Himalayan regions, India, and more. Expand your horizons while studying the unique history and exhibitions focusing on Tibetan culture and art. After popping into the one-of-a-kind gift shop, head to Museum Mile on the Upper East Side. Explore over 30,000 objects and 4,00 years of art and culture at the Jewish Museum, housed in the former Felix M. Warburg House in front of Central Park. Next, stroll to Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum for a fascinating look at their permanent collection featuring 210,000 design objects that span over thirty centuries. It’s the only museum in the nation that is solely dedicated to historic and contemporary design. Following your art-filled day, return to The Roger for delicious afternoon cocktails at The Parlour.
